Quality control

Control, interfaces and documentation

We describe quality through the structure that runs the project: scope control, inspection planning, interface management and close-out.

The principles below describe how we work. We cite no standard numbers and no certifications — we publish those only when we hold the supporting document, and none has been provided.

Project controls

Scope, programme and reporting are run as one structure. Progress is reported against scope, not against an impression of how fast work is going.

  • Scope split into stages with progress measures
  • A single source of information on the state of the works
  • An agreed report format and frequency

Inspection and test plan

Hold points are mapped to stages of scope and carried out while an element can still be corrected. A check after the routes are covered has no evidential value.

  • Hold points mapped to stages
  • Inspection before elements are covered
  • Results recorded with date and inspector

Interface management

We keep a register of interfaces with the other project participants. Each interface has a named owner on both sides and a described handover condition.

  • Interface register with assigned ownership
  • A handover condition described for each interface
  • Early warning of scope clashes

Punch list and close-out

The punch list is part of the observation register, not a separate end-of-job document. An item closes once close-out is confirmed, not once completion is reported.

  • One observation register for the whole scope
  • Close-out confirmed by the originator
  • Status of open points known at any time

HSE coordination

Safety is run as part of site coordination. Where works run in parallel we agree zones and sequencing rather than resolving clashes on the spot.

  • Site rules binding on our teams
  • Agreed zones and sequencing for parallel works
  • Reporting of incidents and near misses

Handover documentation

Documentation is produced alongside the works so that handover confirms the actual state. A complete document set is a condition of handover, not a consequence of it.

  • Documentation produced with the works
  • Control records linked to stages
  • A complete document set at handover

Safety indicators and incident statistics are shared on request, based on actual records. We do not publish them as a slogan and we quote no figure without a source.

Health and safety

Site rules take precedence over the programme. Work in restricted zones is carried out only on terms agreed with the main contractor.

  • Site safety plan and site rules binding on our teams
  • Task-specific briefings before work starts
  • Work zones marked out and secured
  • Work on live equipment and installations per the project procedure
  • Reporting of incidents and near misses
  • Safety coordination where works run in parallel

Audit

This way of working can be checked before any contract is signed

We share our inspection plan, observation register and handover record templates. It is the fastest way to judge the fit with your procedure.
